BIBLE VERSES ON GOD'S LOVE FOR US.

Ezekiel 18:25 " For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; so repent, and live.”  

2 peter 3:9 " The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance". He does not want any us to perish, so he sent Jesus to die for us so we could be saved from hell. 

John 3:16 - 17 tells us "  For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life, For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.".

1 John 3:1 " See how great a love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him".

1 John 4:7-16 '' Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them". 

Psalms 86:15 " But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness". His love for us makes him reacts slowly to anger because he knows we perish when he strikes and that he does not want for us.  

Romans 5 : 5 tells us that God also demonstrated his love for us by the pouring of the Holy Spirit in our heart. "  and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us". 

Romans 5:6-10" For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person, though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life."

 

BIBLE VERSES ON RECIPROCATING GOD'S LOVE FOR US.

Matthew 22:36-38 Jesus said to him, ''You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment,  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” 

Deuteronomy 6:5 "  You shall love Yahweh your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might".

Deuteronomy 10:12 " Now, Israel, what does Yahweh your God require of you, but to fear Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul''.

John 15:9-17 the need for us to love God and one another. "  As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. These things I command you, so that you will love one another".

1 Corinthians 13 " If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned,but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love."
